README.AMI file for unz51d3i (where "i" := "internationa version")
THE EXECUTABLES IN THIS DIRECTORY DO NOT CONTAIN THE ENCRYPTION/DECRYPTION
FEATURE. (USA users may obtain unz51d3x from a local source if they want
encryption).
This is the file, README.AMI, which MUST ACCOMPANY the beta release files for
UnZip 5.1D3 for Amiga. DO NOT REMOVE THIS FILE OR SPLIT UP THE ARCHIVE.
=============================================================================
This is AMIGA BETA RELEASE 3 of Info-Zip software, made available to the
Amiga community for testing and individual use. However, since this software
is being released in Beta form, there may still be some bugs. Info-Zip is
allowing the Amiga port to be released early, because this is the first full
Amiga port, and testing has gone well. Please realize that until officially
released, source code for this version will not be publicly available, and
there may be features provided which are not yet available for other
platforms. When reporting bugs, please use the address below.
Here are a few items to at least acknowledge before hauling this utility
into your system and going wild over its inherent beauty and usefulness:
- It is still BETA test quality. There could still be bugs. We will
upload the Finished Product to BIX, Fred Fish, and Aminet as soon as
it becomes available.
- A version of Zip 1.9L will be similarly released.
- The source code for this version is not readily available because it
has not been officially released. In fact, these source patches haven't
been applied to the master base yet.
- There may be some UnZip features available here that are not yet
available in the "official" releases for other platforms which are
widely available on the Internet.
========================================================================

FUnZip is a specialized utility capable of reading from standard input
and writing to standard output. It will take the first Zip file it

the rest. May be useful with PIPE: device.
ZipInfo is a comprehensive ZIP file reporting tool. Several levels of
detail are supported.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
These programs only run via the CLI, but can work with IconX.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
These executables were built with SAS/C version 6.2, with full optimization.
I will always support the latest SAS compiler, plus one revision back.
Currently, I support SAS 6.2 and 5.10b. Paul Kienitz keeps the code
compatible with Manx Aztec C, and has provided some significant enhancements.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have fully tested these executables with Enforcer and Mungwall running.
No access violations, no illegal references, just clean execution.
NOTE: It may be neccessary to increase the AmigaDOS stack to 16000.
Once we know exactly what the stack requirement is, we will perform
this from within the program.
